Welcome to our latest project. We acquired an sturdy old doghouse that had seen better days. This first picture shows the little home after salvaging most of the original molding.
We worked with the shape of the building to redesign a functional rear access door into a fun shape that mimicked the gambrel roof... and then we miniaturized the door shape for the front access door.
We sanded it down and cleaned it up before applying a fresh coat of paint.
Built some doors out of rescued barnwood, added the revived trim, and applied hardware, all while keeping in mind preserving or reusing as much as possible. The roof was in good condition, except for a few minor dings, so we worked around the existing feature.
